DESCRIPTION

Another great collaboration for the House of Adler and French design power house Lacoste.  We may pick up tennis or ping pong just to wear these fun and fresh ensembles!  We will have to wait until November when these beauties are made available to the public.

 

Lacoste has revealed at Paris Fashion Week a partnership with designer Jonathan Adler, a limited-edition run of polo shirts that gives the iconic René Lacoste French brand Adler's distinctive "happy chic" twist.

 

Instead of an applique sewn onto the shirt, the "Limited Edition" polos by Jonathan Adler have an actual needlepoint crocodile sewn onto the shirts by French nuns. Each of those will be sold packaged inside a Bargello  (embroidered) needlepoint tennis-racquet carrier rocking a silhouette of the crocodile against a classic Adler patterned background.

DESCRIPTION

With references to the 18th century French cabinetry tradition coupled with an attention to detail, these collection of ‘gueridon’ tables are that type of pieces that I love, as they work seamless with traditional or contemporary styles.

 

Sam Baron, created these tables that in my personal opinion share the same design aesthetic of Philippe Starck or Jaime Hayon pieces.  Pieces that have their own language, but a clear inspiration from the past.

 

I would love to use groups of these pieces in different sizes and finishes.  How would you use these tables?

I am always excited to find, discover and introduce local Victoria talent.  I know it is hard to imagine that this Canadian city is full of well keep secrets. Well it is, and there is the certitude that you can find real design talent just around the corner.  This is one of the multiple reasons why I love this city so much. Yesterday my good friends Chris Rothery and Christina Stack from Only Human introduced me to ARBUTUS + DENMAN a local design team with a new stunning product. 

 

The SimplySpun collection of light fixtures is a clever, clean and very memorable line completely designed in Victoria.  With sexy names like Anya, Quincy, Ella, Cortez, Clio and Mino these light fixtures could fill the latest interior design project and you will think they are already design classics. 

 

These stunning light  fixtures where first introduced at the IDS 2011 Toronto show being extremely well received. I have always loved boats and yachts. I am always mesmerised by their lines, their attention to detail, and the sense of adventure that they convey, which really resonates with me. For me a well design boat is sexier than any car.   I think it is the crossover of the commodities of a house and the luxury elements of a car, all mix together that really attracts my designer eye and the fact that I love the sea more for than any highway.

 

I have previously posted some of my favourite eye candies like the Wally Hermès Yatch or the Tofinou 12 by Philippe Stark.  Today its time for GUCCI’s Aquariva, designed by Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini & Officina Italiana Design under Riva’s – Ferreti Brand which are proud to unveil this exclusive made to order re-born new made in Italy icon. This initiative is one of the activities marking Gucci’s 90th anniversary this year.

 

The Aquariva by GUCCI includes tinted green hue crystal windshield, customised coverings with the classic Guccissima pattern, a particular shade of white that comes with a pilmsoll line in the fashion house’s signature red and green and its own accessory line like the silk scarf, the picnic trunk, towels, luggage, key chain, watch and deck shoes. – Of course It’s GUCCI!

Some people may think that we don’t need another Ipad looking gadget around the house.   I know - I love the design of the Ipad and how innovative it is; don't get me wrong. I even wish I had one.  But, today I  found a new version the AlessiTab  designed by Stefano Giovannoni for Promelit. 

 

As designer, I love the fact that Giovannoni corrected what bothers me most about the Ipad is that it needs to lay flat – The AlessiTab has the option of different angles which definitely  enhances the experience for the user.  I feel like I am cheating on my Iphone just looking at it.

 

“AlessiTab” users can surf the net, manage their emails using the video keyboard, and make voice and video calls. It is also configured to receive digital terrestrial TV, web TV and web radio. Personal files can be reproduced in high definition through the USB port. – Alessi
